Factors orienting to approving scores in english IV in higher public education in Liberia, 2017 Fabián Flores Gómez 1 Abstract Whereas negative factors involved in low performance are normally studied, the factors for students getting high performance scores are not explored as research object of study. Factors like the course book and other material’s content, the usefulness of the topics covered, and the use of technology affects positively the performance of students in a ESP course for tourism. This study included 21 students and one of the professors in charge of a ESP course focused on tourism that have either approved or gotten a high standard score. Results show that factors like the course book’s and others material content, the usefulness of the topics covered, the use of technology, and the authentic evaluation can be highlighted in tourism courses in order to influence tourism ESP students in order for them to get high standard performance. 1 Fabián Flores Gómez, dirección electronica: fabian.flores.gomez@una.cr .
